An anonymous hacker downed a number of Go Daddy customer websites and e-mail accounts Monday.
“Anonymous Own3r” claimed responsibility for the service disruption
via Twitter, stating it was the work of one person and not a group.
It was not clear how many customers were affected by the outage, but
the Internet hosting firm’s website was still inaccessible Monday
evening.
“We are experiencing problems. We understand this is impacting some
customers and we take this situation very seriously,” said CEO Scott
Wagner on the site’s homepage. “Everyone at GoDaddy.com is working to
restore all sites affected by this outage as soon as possible.”
The company, that targets its products at small businesses, said on
Twitter late Monday afternoon that “some service has already been
restored. Stick with us.”
